Business Coach in Newcastle for Small Business Owners
Newcastle isn't what it was ten years ago. The trades are flat out, allied health is booming, hospitality is back, and there's serious money moving through the city that wasn't here before. The pressure on owners has grown with it.
If you're searching for a business coach in Newcastle, you've probably hit one of three walls. You've grown faster than your systems can carry. You're stuck at a ceiling you can't quite push past. Or you're trying to scale without burning yourself or your team into the ground.
That's where I come in. I'm Amanda McKee. I coach you through the decisions, give you straight advice, and help you do the work it'll actually take to move forward
What I actually do (and why it's different)
Most business coaches stop at mindset. Most consultants drop a report and walk out. I do both, then I help you do the work.
You don't need more advice. You need someone who'll sit with you, work out what's actually going on, point at the real problem (not the loudest one), and then either coach you through it or help you build the fix. That mix is rare. That's what Outlign is.
Who I work with in Newcastle
Most of the Newcastle owners I work with are doing between $300k and $3m in revenue. They've been at it for a few years. Or they are about to start a new business and they’re ready to invest in setting it up right from the beginning. They're capable people who didn't start a business so they could spend their evenings second-guessing pricing, cashflow, hiring or their website.
Common industries: trades and construction, allied health and clinics, professional services, creative and marketing agencies, hospitality, retail and product. My background is heavy in trades and construction so I know that world well. The frameworks travel across industries.
I'm based in Lake Macquarie so Newcastle is my backyard. The Junction, Cooks Hill, Mayfield, Hamilton, Charlestown, Wallsend, Merewether, the lot. Most client work happens online which means you don't lose half a day to traffic. In person works too if that's what you'd rather.
What Newcastle owners typically bring to Outlign
Common focus areas:
Working out what to focus on when everything feels urgent at once
Pricing the work properly so you're not quietly subsidising your clients
Building systems so the business doesn't fall apart when you take a week off
Knowing where the next lead is coming from and where it should be coming from
Marketing that brings the right kind of client in, not just any client
Hiring, leading and keeping a team that doesn't drive you mad
Growing the business without burning out the person running it

How working together looks
There are three ways in.
Focus Session. A 90 minute structured advisory session. You bring one problem. You leave with priorities and a practical next move. Starts from $250. The fee credits to a Clarity Audit if you keep going.
Clarity Audit and Roadmap. A full look at the business across eight areas including strategy, people, brand, customers, operations, marketing, leadership and owner wellbeing. You leave with a roadmap you can actually use.
Momentum and Traction. Ongoing advisory partnership for owners who want sustained progress. I become the thinking partner who knows the business, tracks progress and keeps the moving parts aligned.
If none of those tiers fit your situation neatly, we'll build something custom. Most owners need something between the lines and we’re happy to accommodate as no business is the same.
“We built our processes ourselves as we grew, and what worked when we were small was creating real bottlenecks.
Amanda came in, assessed everything with fresh eyes, and helped us rebuild from the ground up. Admin systems, sales process, client experience, how we presented the brand.
The last twelve months have been our biggest growth period yet.”
— Mel, Crystal Wolf Cleaning founderWhy working with a local Newcastle coach matters
I'm not flying in from Sydney with a Sydney playbook. The Newcastle market has its own rhythms, its own staffing costs, its own client expectations. I know what owners are paying for trades and admin here. I know what clients here will and won't tolerate. I know the realistic growth ceilings across the main industries. That context shapes the advice.
And I’m genuinely passionate about growing the region that I was born in.
Frequently asked questions
Q. What does a business coach actually do for a Newcastle small business?
A. A good one helps you make better decisions and then execute on them. I do three things together that most people only do separately. I coach you through the head stuff, I give you straight advice on what to do, and I help you do the work when that's what you actually need.
Q. How is Outlign different from other business coaches in Newcastle?
A. Two things. Most coaches focus on mindset only. Most consultants hand you a report and disappear. I do both, then help with implementation. The second thing is the lens. I look at eight areas of your business together so we don't patch one part while another quietly breaks. Then if there’s areas you need deeper help with, we’ll link up some experts in their field.
Q. How much does it cost to work with you?
A. Focus Sessions start from $200. Clarity Audits and ongoing advisory work depend on your business and what's actually needed. I'll give you a real quote after the discovery call. No surprises. We can also build a custom package if the standard options don't fit your situation.
Q. Do you work in person in Newcastle or online?
A. Both. Most work happens online which saves you travel time. I'm based in Lake Macquarie so in person is easy across Newcastle, the Hunter and into the Central Coast.
Q. What kind of businesses do you work with?
A. Service-based small businesses doing roughly $300k to $3m. Common industries are trades, construction, professional services, hospitality and retail. The owners are capable. They just need someone who can see the whole picture without being in it.
Q. What happens on the free 20 minute discovery call?
A. You tell me what's going on. I ask honest questions. If Outlign is the right fit, we talk next steps. If it's not, I'll tell you. You'll leave the call with at least one thing you can act on this week regardless.
─── READY? ───
It starts with a conversation.
20 minutes. No pitch, no pressure. Just an honest conversation about where your business is, where you want it to go, and whether Outlign is the right fit. You'll leave with clarity either way.
